At the conclusion of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Friday morning speech at Liberty University, Provost and Chief Academic Officer Scott Hicks declared DeSantis an “honorary graduate” of the school.
He received an honorary Doctorate of Humanities.
Hicks said the honorary graduation is to recognize the governor for his service to God, family, country, Florida, and “defending our liberties and principles of freedom.”
“It is our honor and privilege to confer upon you, the degree, honorary degree, of the Doctorate of Humanities.”
At his speech, the governor continued his promotion of conservative governing principles he’s implemented in Florida.He also touched on culture war issues like transgenders competing in women’s sports, along with transgender surgeries for minors.
