Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis today expressed support for Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s hold on military promotions.
Speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Mika Brzezinski asked DeSantis is Tuberville should lift his ongoing hold on promotions in protest of the Pentagon’s abortion policy.
“We’re trying to force a change in Pentagon policy, to conform them to the law, while at the same time, he has allowed individuals to be appointed, so if there are mission critical promotions, bring them before the Senate. I think he’s been very clear about that that’s appropriate and I know they have done that in certain instances.”
Wednesday night, several of Tuberville’s Republican colleagues in the Senate attempted to advance the promotions individually, with Tuberville objecting.
