SARASOTA, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis attended an unveiling ceremony Wednesday for the launch of “Governor Ron DeSantis Park” in Sarasota.
“As a dad, I am glad that this is here so that so many families will be able to enjoy it in the future,” DeSantis said at the ceremony. “What a great park!”
The park includes two dog parks, two playgrounds, two shaded pickleball courts, fitness trails, restrooms, accessible parking and solar lighting, the county said.
It is located at 7510 Prospect Rd in Sarasota.
The county noted the naming of the park was a result of “an online vote by Manatee County citizens.”
